Hello!

My name is Renata and I am starting this blog to document my journey in affiliate marketing and online business.  I am the mother of 4 adult children, 11 grandchildren and work full-time.  My goal is to learn as much as I can and start making enough passive income in the next 5 years to be able to retire comfortably.  In the last 2 years I have built 3 websites and one e-commerce store.

I am currently working on building out an e-commerce store using Shopify called Momma’s Love Baby Boutique.  I have yet to make a sale, but this is my learning store.  My goal is to use this store to learn as much as I can about ecommerce through the process. So far I am learning about how to find a niche, find products, and marketing those products.  At this time I am also learning SEO for my store.  My niche if you haven’t guessed is baby products, in particular organic and eco-friendly baby products.

I have to say this is not an easy process.  Don’t let the gurus on YouTube fool you.  If they say you can be selling products in a day, then run away! They are wasting your time.

It takes time to learn each part of a business.  I have bit off quite a chunk by trying to learn e-commerce and affiliate marketing at the same time.  I tend to try to do everything at once.  However, I have about 6 years before I am eligible for retirement.  There is no time to waste! So I am diving in full speed ahead.  Did I mention I also have 1 adult child and her 3 boys living with us too? My husband and I watch the 3 boys in the evening while there mother is at work.

Now I say this to let you know that it is possible with a busy life to do what you want to do.  It is all about setting your priorities.  Right now I do spend a lot of time watching YouTube videos, setting up my store and working on this website.  It is important to lay a good foundation so I can later spend more time with all my grandkids.

My favorite free resource is YouTube.  I can listen to them while I am at work.  Another way to learn while I earn. Beware of who you are listening to on these videos.  There are several different resources I use.  I stay away from those who try to tell me I can earn money fast or this is easy to do.  I look for people who are real in what they tell me.  They are up front that this is not a get rich quick business.

These people are inspiring.  It is encouraging to know it takes time to get this right.  Rome was not built in a day and neither is a business.

Some of the videos I have been listening to lately are from Franklin Hatchett, Income School, Drop Ship Lifestyle, Wholesale Ted, and ODi Productions.  I am not getting a commission from any of these people by telling you about them.  I have found their content to be consistent without any hype.
